Stellarray is pleased to announce that the company’s “Smart X-ray Source” has won first place in the medical category in the 2015 Create the Future design contest, as judged by a panel of 60 leading scientists and engineers.  The contest was organized by NASA/Tech Briefs magazine and sponsored by COMSOL, Mouser Electronics, Analog Devices and Intel.   Over 1,100 inventions were submitted this year in six categories, with about 100 in the medical category, by government laboratories, universities, businesses and individuals from around the world.  Mark Eaton, President and CEO, accepted the award on behalf of the Stellarray team at a dinner ceremony at the Water Club in New York City on November 6.   Our digitally addressable “smart x-ray sources”, with the anode integrated into the vacuum package, will enable compact, portable, inexpensive and open tomographic imaging (CT) systems and help bring the best of radiography to more of the world’s people.
