Stellarray is seeking an innovative engineer for the development of new types of X-ray sources, the integration of high voltage power supplies, and the incorporation of these modules into radiation system products. This engineer will work with a small team of specialists in radiation source engineering, advanced cathode fabrication and test, module assembly and imaging systems. The current focus of our work is the first product we will release – a small irradiator for assuring the safety of blood transfusions, which uses our plain flat panel X-ray sources. We have continuing R & D in other areas, including stationary CT systems using our digital sources, phase contrast imaging and UV sources, to which you would also contribute. Voltages on our X-ray sources range from 10 – 200 kV and input power from 0.1 – 10 kW.

Responsibilities

- Engineer and implement fabrication processes and quality controls for x-ray panels and their components
- Engineer and implement fabrication processes for integrated high voltage power supplies
- Implement repair and maintenance schedules for vacuum pumps, power supplies and panel production equipment
- Design test stations for x-ray panels, including electrical circuits
- Implement FMEA and other measures for yield improvements
- Data collection and documentation for the above processes to ISO standards
- Make innovative contributions to design team for new x-ray sources and systems
- Manage structured engineering studies

Qualifications

- A degree, preferably advanced, in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Physics or related field
- A record of successful development of innovative devices (preferably x-ray-related devices but also including MEMS, vacuum microwave devices, flat panel displays, etc)
- Familiarity with modeling and design tools such as COMSOL and Solidworks
- Familiarity and preferably experience with field emission devices and high voltage amplifiers
- Familiarity with FMEA, verification and validation protocols under ISO quality regimes
- Training in laboratory and radiation safety
