Stellarray is pleased to announce that the company’s “Smart X-ray Source” was selected for a TechConnect National Innovation Award and will be featured at the National Innovation Summit and Showcase next week in Washington D.C.  National Innovation awards are given to the top 15% of federally-funded innovations submitted for the Innovation Summit and are selected by the TechConnnect Corporate and Investment Partner Committee.  The National Innovation Summit and Showcase is co-located with the National SBIR/STTR Conference and the Nanotech 2016 Conference and Expo May 22-25 at the Gaylord Convention Center in Washington.  The full list of 2016 awardees is at:

Stellarray’s smart x-ray sources, with the anode integrated into the vacuum package and the company’s novel cold cathodes producing the electron beams, allow digital addressing of the location, intensity and timing of the x-rays.  The company is now using these sources to develop a digitally addressable research irradiator that will accelerate work in radiobiology and radiochemistry and provide a superior alternative to cesium-137 irradiation.  The smart sources will also enable compact, portable and inexpensive tomographic imaging (CT) systems, to bring the best of radiography to more of the world’s people.  Portable tomography will be particularly useful in military and emergency medicine, and for reaching underserved populations in rural areas and emerging markets.

Stellarray will be presenting our innovation on-site at the Medical Device Innovation session (Tuesday May 24, 3:30 – 5:20, National Harbor 4) and exhibiting at Booth 49M on the showcase floor.  This conference is the world’s largest innovation program featuring technologies from the physical and life sciences.  To view the full program, visit:
